Brisa group has an active participation in several respectable organizations, reinforcing sustainable development and the promotion of the corporate citizenship.

Brisa belongs to several organizations which operate in the development of its sector by maximizing cooperation, innovation and the establishment of sustainable measures.

Corporate citizenship is also an important issue in the Brisa Group's strategy. Brisa strives for a close relationship between the company and the society that surrounds it.

Respectable Organizations 

In order to stimulate the sustainable development of its activity, Brisa is represented in 6 organizations and is a part of their respective boards of directors.

All these organizations focus on Brisa business area - road infrastructures - and their main goal is to develop the activity in a sustainable way.

United Nations Global Compact

The Brisa Group is part of the United Nations Global Compact, a business initiative launched by the United Nations in 2000 and based on universally accepted principles, founded on the following declarations:

  • Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
  • International Labour Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work;
  • The Rio Declaration on environment and development;

At this moment, the United Nations Global Compact already includes 8368 companies from 161 different countries, and has become the largest sustainable development initiative worldwide.

A signatory since October 8 2007, Brisa reinforces its public commitment for sustainable development and defines the principles that shall be incorporated in its activity.

United Nations Global Compact Principles 

  1. To respect and to protect human rights;
  2. To prevent violations of human rights;
  3. To support freedom of association at work; 
  4. To abolish forced labour;
  5. To abolish child labour;
  6. To eliminate discrimination at work;
  7. To support a preventive approach on environmental challenges;
  8. To promote environmental responsibility;
  9. To encourage environmentally friendly technologies;
  10. To fight against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
